Teens aacked street sleeper


A HOMELESS man was as- saulted and robbed in the centre of Maidstone, police have re- vealed. The victimsuffered a number of


facial injuries after hewas targeted by a gang of teenagers on Thurs- day,May 30. Officers claim the victim was


first approached at about 9.45pm while he was sitting on a bench in Week Street, opposite the junction with Station Road. The suspects, described as three


young boys anda girl, approached himdemanding the alcohol hewas drinking, aswell as cigarettes. When he refused, they pulled


him to his feet and tried to push him in the direction of Brenchley Gardens. The victimmade a bid to escape,


andran alongWeek Street towards theHighStreet.Buthe losthis foot- ing and was repeatedly assaulted as he lay on the floor.


His mobile phone, alcohol and


cashwere stolen. He later told police that, when


the assaultwas over andthe group had left the scene, one of the teenage boys returned and hit him in the face. The suspects are described as


beingwhite and are believed to be aged around 15 to 17 years old. Two of the boys had blond hair


andwere of a slimor skinny build. The third boy had dark hair and was also slim. The girlwasdescribedas having


long blonde hair andwaswearing jeans or trousers anda black jacket. Police are asking witnesses, or


anyone with information which may assist the investigation, to call the West Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/105025/19. Alternatively they can contact

Mount Road looks after 15 elderly people and providing respite care for another. The Care Quality Commission
