Therewas a break-in at a workshop, triggering the alarm. There had been reports of shed break-inswithin the ward, fly-tipping had been observed in Mill Lane, and there had been thefts from vehicles. Sports field The clerkwas to ask Scouts to ensure that the sports field gate is locked if the car park is emptywhen they leave the site. Regarding the play area, the RFOwas to respond to the residentwho raised concerns about slippage. CCTVThe clerk had contacted BT and had been advised that the price quotedwas incorrect. Itwas agreed that the newquote was too expensive and itwas agreed to ask the village handyman to check the CCTV regularly. Defibrillator Itwas agreed that itwould be useful to have a defibrillator at the village hall and councillorswould consider contributing to the cost as a user of the village hall. Permissive footpath Residents had expressed concerns that they did not know where the permissive pathwas. Itwas agreed that there should be an article in the newsle�er and that information be sent to residents on the distribution list. Itwas agreed to install two newpermissive footpath signs. Playground The zipwire and stumpswere being removed and thewaste picked up by MBC on the same day. The installation of the zipwirewas due at the end ofApril. Improvements Itwas agreed to investigate the installation of bollards at the village green, and to plant daffodil, snowdrop and crocus bulbs in the village later in the year. ReportAresident apologised for a comment relating to the hedge cu�ing around the village. It is nowclear itwas not the parish council’s employed contractor as KentHighways had cut along theA20 and had caused serious damage to a number of trees along the road. Travel Cllr Prendergast reported that the KCC budget had been set and the annual cost of the Young Person’s Travel Cardwas rising to £350.Highwayswould have an additional £96minvestment to pay for more engineers and staff for the drainage tamand additional highways stewards.

Crime report Curtain-sided trailers had been damaged on theM20.Hare-coursing and trespassing using 4x4 vehicleswere ongoing problems, and the publicwere asked to report any suspicious behaviour. SpeedingUpper Street had become dangerous for pedestrians due to speeding. PCSOGenn had been to the scene. The police had recommended that the 30mph signs at the bo�omofHollingbourneHill bemoved further up, closer to the village sign, but thiswould be expensive and might
notwork.However, the signs needed to be replaced, overhanging branches cut back, and roadmarkings repainted. CllrGarten stressed that speeding drivers should be reported to the police and the parish council should be informed. TanyardGreen Following the application for pocket park status, under the name of Friends of TanyardGreen, CllrWard had received a le�er of grievance fromvillagers who regularly planted flowers and cut the grass on the green. Theywere upset that they had not been consulted or been invited to be Friends. The clerk apologised, explaining that the grant needed to be submi�ed speedily, but admi�ed that the villagers should have been contacted first. The parish council had been unaware that this name had been used, andwas very grateful for thework villagers put in to maintain TanyardGreen. DefibrillatorAdefibrillator and storage box had been delivered to the school for installation.Anotherwas on the outside of the village hall and the equipment had been registeredwith SECamb.
