The Chelsea Flower Show is also celebrating the multitude of benefits that gardening has for health and wellbeing in 2019. Designers will explore the positive powers of plants and will tackle hard- hitting issues – from climate change and pollution to mental and physical health. Checkout the Great Pavilion, which is home to nurseries and growers from all over the globe and discover your new favourite bloom and ask experts for their top gardening tips.

The science behind these blooming

marvels is fascinating, so head to the Discovery Zone within the Great Pavilion and discover a series of educational and innovative exhibits, detailing the latest science and research from the world of horticulture.

Shopaholics will love the show this year as they you can shop until you drop at the show, whether you're after new gardening tools, need a gift for a loved one's birthday or want to spruce up your wardrobe, this is the place to find the finer things in life, surrounded by nature’s bounty.

And this year an Artisan Garden, sponsored by The Donkey Sanctuary, will demonstrate how

owning a donkey

means access to clean, fresh water for some of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in the world. A donkey will

often collect 40-60 litres of water at one time, reducing the time required to access it, freeing children to get an education and women to be economically active. The garden, designed by Annie Prebensen and Christina Williams, comes as The Donkey Sanctuary celebrates its 50th birthday in 2019. Over the last five decades, the charity has grown from a charity rescuing UK donkeys from neglect and abuse to an international welfare organisation transforming the lives of millions of donkeys and mules, and the people who depend on them for a living. The donkeys are already being hailed as the next stars of the Chelsea Flower Show 2019!

This superb event in the British social calendar should be a floral triumph and a feast for the eyes and soul.
