And so to April, my birthday celebration month…and I mean month!! I like to drag out my birthday celebrations for as long as I can; my 40th birthday lasted six weeks, with events throughout. I truly believe that if you're going to get older anyway, you may as well enjoy the process. This year my birthday almost collides with Easter, another important date in the calendar. I always used to find it strange how Christmas was always the 25th December yet Easter moved around with no fixed date! I remember dancing in the World Championships in Ireland (when I was much younger) and Easter happened to fall on my birthday; our team won the World Champion Dance Drama title and I was dressed as a deer, one of the lead characters in this Celtic
tale...great memories, great antlers, my first sip of Champagne and an Easter to remember!

For this issue I interviewed Carly Paoli; English-born, an Italian heritage and a voice that has been praised by Andrea Bocelli and Jose Carreras, she's as beautiful as her voice and doing her bit to bring classical music to a wider audience. From Dolce and Gabbana to Giorgio Armani, everyone wants to dress her and her Ave Maria was adopted by The Vatican for Pope Francis's Jubilee Year of mercy. Gracia Italia's Woman of the Year, Carly chats to me about her voice, career, fashion and being an Ambassador alongside Kylie Minogue for BBC Music Day.
