Bratteborg to be the site of Elmia Wood 2021
E
lmia Wood May 18-21, 2021 will be held in Bratteborg in the timberlands of Småland, 30km south of
Jönköping, Sweden. The site has everything needed for showing the latest technologies and coducting demonstrations. The land and infrastructure of
the Bratteborg venue meets all the logistical demands that such an event requires. Importantly, the timberland available for live demonstrations is unprecedented. “The growth potential of Elmia
Wood continues to be great, not least in terms of increased international interest,” says Mattias Pontén, Project Manager, Elmia Wood. “The close collaboration with the landowner of the site at Bratteborg, Sandahlsbolagen (Sandahl Group),
is an important enabler for further international expansion.”
Elmia Wood - in the middle of the woods of Småland, Sweden The Bratteborg site is a large property comprising 150 hectares of timberland, farmland and open areas. As of Elmia Wood 2021, the venue will cover new sections, not previously utilized during the trade fair. Forestry trade fairs used to be
about stands or hectares. By utilizing the latest technologies, we now have the necessary data for all of the 47 ,000 trees at the site. Thus, the availability of timberland ready for felling at subsequent fairs is plentiful. This will enable continued live demonstrations of machinery and equipment in its intended environment.
“Further information on how we
will utilize the potential that resides within the Bratteborg site will follow after the completion of SkogsElmia on June, 6-8 2019,” says Mattias Pontén. The owner of Site Bratteborg,
Sandahlsbolagen (Sandahl Group)

Paxman keynote at RWM
We are now six months away from this year’s widely anticipated RWM exhibition, and already the ground- breaking announcements are cementing this year as the biggest event ever! For two days of the year, on
September 11th and 12th, practically the entire sustainability and environmental industry meets at the NEC, Birmingham. After nurturing a partnership with
Forest Carbon, RWM announced that it will offset its own carbon footprint by planting an entire forest! For every new exhibitor RWM will plant a tree within the RWMForest – this is a fantastic initiative to offset RWM’s unavoidable carbon, which is produced to make a trade show of this scale possible. CIWM has secured its tree to make sure we offset our carbon footprint at the show, if you want to lead by example too contact Nick Woore on his contact details at the end of the email. Keynote speakers are now
starting to be revealed, and already the lineup is phenomenal. Confirmed
so far is Tom Szaky of TerraCycle and Ioannis Hatzopoulus of Procter & Gamble, and the Clean Up Britain patron Jeremy Paxman. The most recent announcement of well renowned Jeremy Paxman comes hot off the heels of his eloquent call to action for the public to begin cleaning up ‘dustbin Britain’. This year will also see the launch
of new features like the AI & Robotics Zone, the evolution of the Zero Emissions Zone, a dedicated Waste Tech Theatre, and the return of Materials World. Not to mention there will be even more illustrious
speakers revealed as the event grows closer. If you want to plant your tree
in the RWMForest or secure your place in front of Jeremy Paxman at RWM 2019 this September, visit the website below or get in touch. Tickets are completely free
and are available on www.
