Still returns to Stones to keep teamin league
RELEGATION- threatened Maidstone United has turned to an old friend in its time of crisis. Former Stones boss John Still
(right) has come out of retirement with an 18-month deal asHead of Football, andwill be in charge for the crunch match against Leyton Orient thisweekend. Mr Still (68), retired from the
game last month after leaving Barnet FC, but senior manage- ment at Maidstone persuaded himto take on the challenge of re- taining the club’s position in the highest tier of non-league English football. Hewas theman in charge of the
Stones when they briefly entered the football league 30 years ago. His career spanned more than
40 years, 2,000 matches and he haswon theNational League title a record three times – firstly with Maidstone and then with Dagen- ham (2007) and Luton Town (2014).
Club chief executive Bill
Williams said: “I am absolutely delighted that John has agreed to join us. He’s one of the bestman- agers to ever grace the non-league game and his record speaks for it- self. “For those who followed the
Stones in the 80s, John’s place in our club’s history is assured and nowa newgeneration of our sup- porters will get to see the enthu- siasm, passion and skill this man has for the game.” JoiningMr Still at theGallagher

why I started Albany Funerals - I wanted to make sure a safe place existed where a family's wishes take priority. At a time when it's extremely difficult to think clearly, our
