OTHER BERTHING INFORMATION Annual Moorings


Annual residential moorings are spread through the river with a concentration in Dartmouth. There are a variety of mooring types from pontoons with water and electricity, trot moorings, swinging moorings, running moorings and dinghy/tender pontoons and racks.


Waiting lists operate for these locations and you can find more information about our waiting lists on the website.


Residential moorings are marked with blue buoys and should not be used by visitors without the authorisation of Dart Harbour.


Dues are payable to the Harbour Office or River Officer.


There are also private launching facilities at Darthaven Marina, Noss Marina and Blackness Marine. There are small slipways at Stoke Gabriel, Greenway Quay and Dittisham (a charge may be made).


Winter Berths Winter berths are available at various locations. Please contact the Harbour Office aſter July 1st register your interest.


Temporary Berths Temporary berths are sometimes available for waiting list applicants.


Please register at the Harbour Office from January (for the following year – e.g. 2019 for 2020).


Scrubbing Grid Dart Harbour manage the use of two scrubbing grids. One in Dartmouth and the other close to our Hoodown workshop, in Kingswear.


Dartmouth Grid is suitable for vessels up to 12.5 metres (2.5m draſt) and the Kingswear grid for vessels up to 10m max (up to 1.6m draſt). These grids are not suitable for fin keels.


Launching Facilities A public slipway is located in Dartmouth alongside the Higher Car Ferry and in Totnes at the Rowing Club downstream from Steamer Quay. Harbour


Permission for use of the grid will be given following a safety briefing from Dart Harbour staff and familiarisation with the risk assessment. Full information is available in the Harbour Office or from a River Officer afloat.
