SPECIAL TO THE HAMPTON ROADS MESSENGER The historic Norfolk (VA) Alumni

Chapter, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., inducted 18 young men into its national award winning Guide Right Program recently at the Murray Center in Norfolk. The Chapter was the first graduate

chapter to be established

in Virginia October 5, 1940, and established its first Guide Right Program on March, 12, 1941 under the guidance of the late Judge James Overton.

Guide Right is the national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity,

Inc. The purpose of the

Guide Right program is to place the training experience and life

lessons

of successful men at the disposal of youth for educational and occupational guidance, primarily inspirational and informational in character.

During the 83rd National

Grand Conclave of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. held in July 2017, the Chapter Guide Right program won the National Jay Crosby Award for medium size alumni chapters.
