Technical Manager


Magna lndustrials Limited is a global leader in molten metal flow engineering, providing a full range of refractory crucibles to its customers worldwide, principally serving the steel foundry and precious metal industries.


We have a vacancy for a Technical Manager whose main purpose is to identify and develop new products in the company’s key marketplaces through a data-driven laboratory/research approach.


The candidate must demonstrate a background in managing technical and development projects using project management tools. A strong background in Applied Science or Engineering, preferably in areas of Material Science or Refractory Technology is required. A practical and theoretical grasp of typical refractory characterisation tests at both room and elevated temperatures, including mechanical and microstructural methods is required.


Strong IT skills are desired, the ability to analyse data and to identify appropriate next steps from such analysis. The ability to handle interactions with individuals at all levels of the organisation is essential.


A relevant degree in Material Science, engineering is required. PhD in Material Science, engineering or related discipline preferred. A logical, confident problem solver would suit this role.
