Progress Education Foundation, Inc. Third Annual Black tie Scholarship Gala, and elegant affair was sold out on November 17, 2018 at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Chesapeake. The event included a VIP Reception, awards banquet, and dancing to music provided by Doc Christian.


The Western Branch High


School Orchestra played music while guests enjoyed a delicious meal. The program was moderated by Mrs. Bonita B. Harris, Media and Community Relations Manager at


Dominion Energy. The invocation was provided by Dr. Veronica Coleman, Pastor, New Jerusalem Ministries. The honorable Richard W. West, Mayor of Chesapeake, Mr. Al Alexander, Chairman of the Board of Directors, The NCMPEF, and Mr. David Washington, President, The New Chesapeake Men for Progress welcomed guests to the event.

pastor Revered Michael R. Toliver and Mrs. Elizabeth Eccles were awarded the Foundation’s Dr. James R. Jackson, Sr. Community Service Award.
