Losses Bob Mayfield, 79, Wills Point,


died July 26 after a long illness. The NCHA member for 35 years had al- most $100K in lifetime earnings, having served as NCHA President in 2007, and was in NCHA Mem- bers Hall of Fame.


Keith Barnett, Brenham,


passed away August 19. The 76- year-old cutting horse legend was horseback until almost the end. At the time of his death, he was sitting 4th in the ACHA $3K Novice Horse standings. He was a member of both the ACHA and NCHA Halls of Fame, with well over a mil- lion in total LTE. A scholarship fund was established in his mem- ory, with donations to be sent to Brenham National Bank, P.O. Box 2568, Brenham, TX 77834.


Bill Ragland, 88, died August


30 at home in Brenham, where he had lived since 1968. He was a HLSR volunteer for 60 years and in 1997 was made a lifetime director. He had served as director for ACHA and NCHA.


Anthony Ashcraft,


Grapevine, AR, died September 8 after a courageous battle against cancer. His wife, Vivian, introduced him to horses, specifically Paso Finos, and they enjoyed many happy times at horse shows and on trail rides. w
