BRE announces first Home Quality Mark certified home


In what has been described as a ‘landmark seal of approval’, the HQM was awarded to Lancaster Grange in Hertfordshire, a 100 unit devel- opment by Crest Nicholson. Positioned close to the BRE Innovation Park, Crest Nicholson said the

development’s design has been “carefully considered to ensure it integrates seamlessly within the existing environment and supports occupants’ wellbeing.” Lancaster Grange incorporates communal green spaces, play areas, cycle paths and footpaths that weave through the development. It also offers a 10 minute walk to the centre of Bricket Wood village, helping to fulfil the HQM’s criterion of good transport and links to amenities. Radlett is also a short drive away, and commuter links are provided by the nearby Watford Junction station.


The first of the two-bedroom apartments, and three to four-bedroom homes are ready to move into now, and Help to Buy is available. The HQM is a quality rating scheme for new-build homes developed by the BRE. A high ‘star’ rating is intended to indicate that a new home is designed, built, and will perform to a high environmental standard.
