Consider picking up a different dance style or even a vocal or acting class. Do everything you can to expand your abilities. This will make you a more versatile and competitive performer.
TB: This is really great advice. You also have a website that offers this kind of advice to working dancers is that right?

SE: Yes! So, my website is called The Working Dancer, and it serves as an online career center for dancers, packed with lots of insight and inspiration. It came about from my time in grad school and teaching thereafter. When they learned how I started my career in LA, students would often approach me with questions about launching their own career. I didn’t always have the time to share my insight fully with each student, so I created this site as a way to help both those students and the dance community in general. I’ve even been able to use the content I’ve created on my site to help develop some of the curriculum I teach.
TB: Oh wow! That’s pretty great. Using questions from real-world professional dancers in your curriculum means that you’re able to offer your students very relevant information in being a successful dancer.
TB: Thank you so much for speaking with me today! I look forward to hearing about your future ventures and what new shows you’re working on.
SE: Thank you!
