CLEVELAND SHOW is celebrating 75 years since our first Show in 1944 which was held in Stockton on Tees. This year the event is held on Saturday 28th July in Stewart Park, Middlesbrough. This agricultural and horticultural show is a great day out for families with trade stands, animal competitions, a fairground and a wide range of other attractions including displays in the Main Arena by The Devils Horsemen, Ben Potter’s Birds of Prey, and 3Sixty Cycle Stunt team. You can visit the music marquee and enjoy live music by Acoustic Brew and Claire Louise, who will be singing songs from the Forties. There will be displays by the Army, the Fire Brigade, Cleveland Clever Canines and the Police Dog Agility Team too. Cleveland Show is once again proud to have BBC Tees as its broadcasting partner. The usual range of classes will be included in the show: horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, horticulture, small livestock (incl. ferret racing), show jumping (for which entries are taken on the day) and vintage machinery. THE 53RD MASHAM STEAM ENGINE FAIR ORGAN RALLY takes place on 21st & 22nd July. There’s a variety of exciting arena events each day including Julian Smythe’s Adrenalin Show and Ben Potter’s Falconry display. Children will be entertained by puppet making and large bouncy castles. Families can also enjoy a parade of grand steam engines and other veteran, historical, vintage and classical vehicles. There are beautiful showmen’s engines and vintage fairground attractions. Browse round crafts & market stalls and there are plenty of catering facilities including local ice cream and breweries. Under 5’s go free and children’s admission is at the reduced price of £2. PARKWAY DAY NURSERY LIMITED is delighted to be returning to host the popular children's fun and education zone at the Cleveland Show on Saturday 28th July 2017. Last year was a great success with hundreds of children enjoying the Free crafts, games and entertainment and the best thing was the fun didn't cost the parents a penny! This year promises to be even better! The day will be packed full of FREE, fun and entertaining activities for all the children and family to enjoy. Activities will include drawing & crafts competitions to win prize money, making and decorating your own animal masks, play dough, sports games, children's entertainment from Tom Rolfe and Jo Jingles and much, much more. The Parkway Day Nursery Mascot "The Purple Dragon" will be there to meet and greet all the children and have their photographs taken if they wish. Parkway Day Nursery staff will be available throughout the day to offer advice, discuss individual requirements for any parent/carer wishing to look at childcare for their child within the age ranges of 6 weeks – 14 years, this includes the Free funded 15 or 30 hours for 2, 3 & 4 year olds. STOKESLEY SHOW this year takes place on Saturday 22nd September and will be opened by the GT Group Peterlee Band marching through the town to open the show, led by Harry Newbould who will be proudly carrying the Society Standard. New for this year is the Country pursuits arena, where there will be Ryan Kay Gundog demonstrations and birds of prey will be in attendance. Ayton Angling Club


will be giving demonstrations. For those who like to think they are a good shot, have a go with Missshoot, where guns meet technology!!! Don’t forget to visit the ferrets always fun to see. The main ring entertainment will be Paul Smith, ‘The Brazilian Job’. Remember the Italian Job? This is the new version with the 3 wonderful mini cars. Not to be missed and very exciting for all the family. The Vintage Parade includes some of the exhibits from the war years and still going strong, remains one of the sights of the countryside. With the Tour de Yorkshire fresh in our minds, see the ‘3 sixty bicycle stunt team’ in attendance who will thrill everyone with their dare devil stunts on their bikes, plus, everyone can interact after each of their performances for a chat. The ever popular display of alpacas will be here this year. Also competing at the show will be the cattle and sheep with classes taking place throughout the morning. No Stokesley show would be complete with out the Agricultural Horses who provide a most spectacular sight and will head the Grand Parade at 3 pm. Horse classes take place in rings 2 a ,b, and c throughout the day and in the main ring in the early morning. In the marquees


there is a wonderful collection of plants, vegetables and flowers to look at and purchase from the designated stands. There are also the talented folk who enter the wonderful Handicraft and Produce classes with their exquisite handiwork or wonderful cakes and dairy produce. Don’t forget to see the bees working hard behind glass. Fur and feather friends are well represented with a wide variety of poultry, pigeons, rabbits and cavies. Dogs on leads are welcome and there is this a designated dog ring with classes for everyone. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the Foxhounds and Beagles who will be paraded in the main ring and an opportunity for the children to come in and see the Foxhounds. Stokesley show is renowned for its Craft marquee and with over 120 Trade stands, it’s a chance to do some early Christmas shopping or to treat yourself and family. No visit would be complete without grabbing a bite to eat and drink, with opportunities to have a picnic or dine in style in the luncheon marquee. Ice- creams are also available.
