Summer is officially upon us
Summer is officially upon us which means we’ve been working hard on those playlists to accompany those late nights, beer gardens or – if we’re lucky – a beach holiday maybe?!
Music makes a good get together turn great so we’re all about giving ‘shout outs’ to the artists and tracks you need coming out the speakers over the next couple of months.
Camila Cabello. What a girl. We’re still buzzing off her gig in Birmingham last month so she’s pretty much top choice for summer tunes. ‘Havana’ is a given with those sexy Latino vibes that convince us we can move our hips a la J-Lo or Shakira. When it’s in the back garden, no one can see right? Sure fire winner.
Sticking with power women, it wouldn’t be a Heart Summer Playlist without Ariana, right? Woman of the moment with her new single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ plus the possibility of a new album on the horizon? Yeah, say no more. We’ll be belting that out with our mirrored sunnies on.
Let’s take it back to an old school summer classic… it’s totally ok for us to put Kevin Lyttle ‘Turn Me On’ on there, right? Every time we play this right now it instantly gives the summer vibes! Whilst we’re at it, follow that up with Will Smiths ‘Getting Jiggy With It’ and you’ve got yourself a double whammy of old school goodness!
We’re still obsessed with the Spanish influence that pops up every now and then during the show so we can’t not include a couple! CNCO & Little Mix’s ‘Reggaeton Lento’ is on repeat for us, it just doesn’t get old! Plus, it sounds perfect in the sunshine. So, for good measure, let’s bring in Wolverhampton lad Liam Payne’s new one with J Balvin ‘Familiar’. Believe us when we say this will be stuck is your head ALL DAY!
Finally, we just have to give a nod to the legend that is Jess Glynne! She’s had 8 Big Top 40 Number 1’s now and that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. ‘These Days’ is still a favourite for us and our listeners but it seems only right to put that 8th Big Top 40 Number 1 as our final Summer Playlist suggestion. Get ‘I’ll Be There’ on and turn it up! Loud!
Get the sangria out, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a hot, hot summer!
