Sign Up for ASCA’s Upcoming Webinars
ASCA will offer two webinars in June and July: “Infection Con- trol Training Inside Your ASC” on Tuesday, June 12, and “Managing Conflict Effectively” on Tuesday, July 10. Both webinars will be held at 1:00 pm ET. Ann Geier, CASC, chief nurs- ing officer at SourceMedical in St. Louis, Missouri, will present the first webinar. She will examine the requirements for infection preven- tion training that apply to all health care providers, including ASC staff and credentialed staff, and offer practical solutions for presenting information that all health care pro- viders will be encouraged to read. Amsurg Training and Develop- ment Manager Heather Lambert will lead the second webinar. She will review the definition of conflict, share facts on conflict in the ASC setting and discuss different views on levels and causes of conflict and methods of conflict management. Visit ASCA’s webinars page,
www.ascassociation.org/webinars, to
learn more and register. Both
webinars are included in the 2018 Webinar All-Access Pass, which includes the live events and record- ings for all 18 programs scheduled this year.
Participate in National ASC Month For more than a decade, ASCs have used
National ASC Week as an
opportunity to promote awareness of the industry by inviting elected officials, the media and members of the community to open houses and facility tours. Due to the increasing number of local and federal legislators visiting ASCs, ASCA has decided to expand National ASC Week into National ASC Month,
www.ascassociation.org/ nationalascmonth. This year, for the entire month of August, ASCs around the country will open their doors to their communities. Hosting policymakers in your facil- ity creates personal connections that can
directly affect ASC-related legislation and regulations. These events raise the profile of ASCs, help educate the public about the high-quality care ASCs offer and can secure support for ASCs during key policy-making deliberations. Congress is in recess during the
month of August, so this is the per- fect time to host a facility tour for your representatives. To get started, simply email or call your congressional mem- ber’s local district office and set up a tour. If you would like assistance coor- dinating a tour, email Danielle Kaster at
dkaster@ascassociation.org. For more information, visit ASCA’s Facility Tour page at
www.ascassociation.org/hosta facilitytour.
