Our People Tim Connolly
Growing up in the funeral business from the age of six gives Tim a unique perspective of a family owned funeral business. Since leaving school Tim has been involved in every aspect of the business and understands what it takes to provide meaningful funeral ceremonies. Tim and his wife Gina operated their own funeral business in North Queensland for several years which provided them an understanding of what customers in smaller communities really need. Tim says “When we were working in smaller townships we learned a lot about old fashioned values which we continue to provide today. Small things can make all the difference and it helps to personalise the service”. Tim
has travelled to many funeral association meetings and obtained many educational qualifications including crematory operator certificate, diploma of business and cert 4 in funeral service and regularly conducts public educational sessions across many fields.
Capable of attending to all aspects of the business, Tim prides himself on ensuring the Newhaven team have everything they need to provide clients exceptional customer service.
Rebecca Connolly
Rebecca has been involved in the family business since birth, starting fulltime in the company in April 1996. Rebecca is
predominantly in the accounts department, however enjoys being out in the community assisting our funeral directors. “I don’t think of myself having a ‘job’, I love going in every day and guiding families through the most difficult time of their lives” says Rebecca. “The feeling of knowing you have assisted in the healing process is second to none”. Rebecca is married with two children whom already talk of being third generation funeral directors when they grow older.
Kim has more than 20 years experience in the Funeral Industry. He has worked in every aspect of the industry from a Gardener to liaising with the Queensland Police Service and the State Coroner. Kim’s core value of professionalism ensures that every Family’s
loved one is accorded the utmost respect and dignity. Kim’s favourite past time is Golf. He is a very proud Grandfather and a very proud Tasmanian.
Libby Connolly
As part of the Connolly family, it was a natural progression following school for
Libby to be a part of the family business. Now with close to 20 years’ experience working in all aspects of the business Libby’s main roll is in administration. Libby specialises in international repatriations and prides herself on being able to meet any request, and assists client families through the most traumatic time of their lives as gently and smoothly as possible.
David Clayton
Born and raised in Mackay. David worked in retail and customer service for 5 years during school and then started with
Newhaven Funerals in 2004. In his role as manager, he thrives on being part of a professional, experienced team that is
dedicated to serving families in the Mackay and Whitsunday region with a personalised, respectful Funeral Service. David enjoys
playing hockey with Arsenal Hockey Club and the occasional round of golf and spending time with his wife and family.
