Local Fundraiser surpasses $1 million dollars T


he 14th annual Winn$tock business community battle of the bands charity fundraiser was held on Friday, March 9 at Cowboys Canad Inns Destination


Centre Windsor Park. Te event raised $105 K for the Move- ment Centre of Manitoba, and Winn$tock Legacy Trust managed by the Winnipeg Foundation. Tis year there was a special celebration, complete with confetti canons, recognizing achievement of the milestone of over $1-mil- lion in total funds raised for “under the radar” children’s charities since inception. A “souled-out” crowd rocked to the music of compet-


ing bands comprised of business community members including: Mutual Fun, Te Redliners, Back to the Future and Britainy Speerz. Prime Time provided the opening set. Britainy Speerz was chosen as Best Band by celebrity judges Greg Mackling (680 CJOB), Howard Mandshein


(92.1 CITI FM) and Kelly Parker (94.3 Te Drive, Winnipeg’s Greatest Hits). Richard Cloutier (680 CJOB and Global News) was the emcee for the evening. Mutual Fun was selected by the audience as the Fan Favorite. Winn$tock founder and co-chair Allan Jacks, thanked
