Engaging the World
FPCA’s foundation of international ministries and relationships
After lead pastor Jack Haberer returned from a trip to Lebanon to connect with Christians there and learn more from our Arabic community’s brothers and sisters across the border in Syria (see page 3), he preached on the importance of international outreach in the context of our yearlong focus on being “Rooted in Christ: Growing as Disciples in Community.” More can be done, he said. Here are updates and reflections on First Presbyterian’s existing ministry activity in the world.
In helping to foster the physical and spiritual well-being of others, FPCA ministries engage in relationships with people in (from left) Honduras, Lebanon/Syria, Malawi, and—through peacemakers such as Samuel Akhtar—countries including Pakistan (see page 8).
