THE STORY BEHIND FOUR OAKS FINANCIAL SERVICES

Martin Ward is the Managing Director and founder director of Four Oaks Financial Services. He began his career in 1982 with Co-Operative Insurance, collecting premiums door to door.

That gives you some idea of the length of time Martin has been in the financial services sector! In 2005 Martin was working as a very successful Financial Adviser. However, he could see that the landscape of Financial Services as an industry was changing. With the introduction of new rules and regulations it was unlikely that one-man-band advisers were going to survive and it wouldn’t be feasible for a single adviser to be qualified to give advice on all the areas of financial services that clients’ sought.

It was at that time Martin wrote his business plan for the Four Oaks Financial Services we see today. His vision was to build a team of qualified, experienced Financial Advisers with shared administrative and Paraplanning (research) support under one roof. He then went one step further, imagining an organisation that was client focussed delivering financial services with respect, empathy and transparency.

“Financial services are not particularly easy to understand, and from the very beginning I wanted Four Oaks Financial Services to put our clients first. We have a Customer Promise that every Adviser and member of our team works to”; says Martin Ward.

“We also have a very rounded and holistic approach to financial advice. We call it Lifestyle Financial Planning. We use specialist forecasting software that, combined with the knowledge of an experienced Financial Adviser, produces much more detailed projections than those that most people are familiar with and helps our clients to answer questions like ‘when can I afford to retire or change career or go part-time’?”

Early in 2017 the business was forecasting record growth, which was great news, but meant that to look after their growing portfolio of clients, more qualified Financial Advisers would be needed in the next 12 to 18 months. “We decided that we would launch our own Four Oaks Training Academy.” Continued Martin Ward, “Giving our talented support teams the opportunity to become fully qualified Financial Advisers with a financially remunerated development plan.”

The Four Oaks Training Academy was launched in August 2017, and has already proven to be a great success. Six people sat the first exam and all of them passed!

Four Oaks Financial Services is an award-winning firm of Financial Advisers, based in Shenstone Wood End, near Lichfield. To find out more go to www.fouroaksfs.com
