Jan van Eyck is renowned for his paintings - Virgin and Child, the Arnolfini Marriage, the portraits of the men & women at the court of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy. Royal Society of Arts Fellow and Italian and Northern Renaissance art specialist Shirley Smith examines his work - how his revolutionary techniques with oils captured the gleam of the Virgin's crown or the reflective light of the Flemish landscape.

An award-winning quartet of young musicians with a repertoire of classical, jazz & pop music arrangements. The 440 Quartet regularly work with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Orchestra of the Swan and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Tonight’s programme includes - Mozart, Borodin, Dvorak, Purcell, Handel, Bach, Grieg, Bizet, Gershwin, Barry, Andrew Lloyd Webber & Trad: Waltzing Matilda.
