Pan, Year 12 Hi, my name is Pan. I come from China and I’ve been here for one year. I’m so pleased that I had the opportunity to study on the Intensive English Course at Sibford School.


The ESOL department arrange the Intensive English Course which helps your English so much. During this course my English improved a lot, because when I first came to England I just knew a tiny bit of English, but now I can talk to other local students fluently. Also, it lets us have a chance to experience things like pottery and cooking. This course not only makes us integrate into the school, but also improves our English.


The ESOL Department also organises some activities for us to relax from the normal lessons and understand the local culture. I think it’s good for the students who have come to England for the first time because it gives us faster access to school life. Moreover, the teachers in the ESOL Department are very knowledgeable, patient and kind.


Now I study Maths, Physics, ICT and ESOL for my A Level courses and I really enjoy my life in the Sixth Form. It’s a good choice to do the Intensive English Course before starting your A Levels.
