feeling that this is all getting out of hand, with the whiff of a witch hunt wafting around. “He put his hand on my knee 15 years ago. I didn’t stab it with a fork or bring my knee up hard or slap his face. I did nothing, but now I am ensuring his career is ruined…” leading to the “Shock Horror” of the past few weeks, surely demeans the very proper “outing” of loathsome, predatory, sexual bullies whose defenestration is welcome and not before time? Surely it makes life more, not less, difficult for the abused female who needs the help and understanding of all of us.


As my VMIR hit a high point, Her Nibs was heard to observe “Balance in All Things”; exactly! Perhaps we should not blame the complainants, but the media who give it oxygen and, of course, the consumer of their product...er...all of us, for our salacious drooling and rueful schadenfreude.


And I now must close my monthly fulminations. Lady Jones has reminded me of Number One on her list of Top Business Tips: forget all that stuff about financial or strategic discipline, communication communication communication, staying constantly focussed; nope, “mens sana in corpore sana” is Her Nibs’ watchword, which means I’m off for a perambulation on this Remembrance Sunday, ever grateful to those whose courage and selflessness will never be forgotten; without what they did, our Board Breakfasts would never happen.
