Carbon Black, the leader in next-generation endpoint security, which has just opened new offices in Reading, has named Victor Gureghian Baez as its new vice-president of worldwide channels. Baez will lead channel revenue and growth as well as expansion of the company’s global reseller footprint and incident response programme as Carbon Black continues to accelerate its Predictive Security Cloud rollout. Baez joins Carbon Black from Microsoft where he most recently managed global distribution and indirect channels and helped accelerate growth of the cloud solution provider programme.
Reading-based CH&Co Group has announced a new partnership with renowned chef and restaurateur Mark Sargeant. The collaboration upholds the contract caterer’s commitment to ongoing food innovation and the development and motivation of its chefs and teams. Sargeant will support CH&Co Group across its portfolio of businesses, which operate in the business and industry, heritage, leisure, education and healthcare sectors. Key areas and initiatives that he will lend his expertise and industry knowledge to include: menu development; chef training in the CH&Co Group Chef Academy; culinary communications; team engagement and motivation through internal communication and events. As a champion of nurturing talent, Sargeant will also be offering CH&Co Group chefs the opportunity to complete stages at his various establishments, including his flagship Folkestone restaurant, Rocksalt.
Pitmans Law has announced the appointment of Duncan Edwards as chief operations officer in a new leadership position that will extend the current management team in order to further drive efficiencies and business performance. Edwards will be responsible for the day-to- day running of the business, leading and implementing change to deliver the business plan. Edwards has extensive experience providing strategic advice and delivering operational improvements and joins the firm following a successful tenure as COO for Insignia Group. Previously, for 10 years, he led operational and change improvements at PA Consulting.
National fit-out and refurbishment specialist Overbury has appointed a new head of pre-contracts and head of sales to further strengthen its offering across the southern region. Chris Letch joins Overbury’s Bracknell-based southern team from the world of construction as head of pre-contracts. He has over 18 years’ experience in design and build contracting for some of the country’s largest construction companies including Wates Construction and Bouygues UK. With a thorough understanding of the bidding and pre-contract process, Letch brings his expertise to tender selection and evaluation to drive the team’s excellence in competitive bidding, while strengthening client and consultant relationships. Also in Bracknell, Leanne Pammen joins as head of sales for the southern team. Leanne started her career working for an international property consultancy before specialising in construction and fit out, which has been her focus for the past decade. Her enthusiasm, experience and wide professional network will bring the team closer to its business development goals.
Hampshire-based IT provider Centerprise International has announced that sales director Jeremy Nash has taken on the role of chief executive officer. “I’m delighted to be appointed CEO of Centerprise International,” said Nash. “It is a very exciting time to be at Centerprise. We have embarked on a programme of expansion and are enjoying enviable growth. Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of Gareth Davies as director in the corporate finance team in the Thames Valley. The new role will see Davies focus primarily on transactions across the Thames Valley mid- market technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector. He brings with him a wealth of advisory experience with a particular focus on TMT, having worked with a diverse range of private, large corporate and private equity clients. Davies has previously headed up TMT mergers and acquisitions (M&A) nationally at BDO, as well as holding M&A focussed roles at PwC and Morgan Stanley. With more than 18 years of experience and having successfully completed over 50 transactions, Davies has worked closely with many mid-market businesses to enhance value and has an in-depth understanding of the technical issues that clients could face while embarking upon an exit event.
