The western seaboard of Scotland is home to some of the finest gardens in Europe, where unusual and exotic plants flourish in the warm climate of the North Atlantic Drift. Many were planted in the Victorian era and designed to complement grand country homes.

Wednesday 16th May Cruise Kyle Rhea and Sound of Sleat, Loch Hourn. Plockton - Attadale Gardens.
Thursday 17th May Loch Ewe - Inverewe Garden. Ullapool - Corrieshalloch Gorge.
Friday 18th May
Ullapool - Dundonnell Estate Garden. Ullapool - Durnamuck Garden.
Saturday 19th May Loch Dunvegan, Skye - Dunvegan Castle and Gardens.
Cruise south west Skye and the Small Isles.
Sunday 20th May Mull - Lip na Cloiche Garden. Tobermory, Mull - Glengorm Castle.
Monday 21st May Fort William - Ard Daraich Garden. Lochaline - Ardtornish Estate Gardens.

Richard Baines was a lecturer in horticulture before becoming Curator of Logan Botanic Garden, part of The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. A regular contributor to gardening magazines he has participated in many Gardeners’ Question Time panels, lectures on various topics and has appeared on both TV and radio. His plant specialities include rhododendrons, hardy palms and southern hemisphere exotics.
