suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgen- der and questioning (LGBTQ) young people.” Inspired by the Academy Award-winning short filmTrevor, The Trevor Project, founded in 1998, is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ young people ages 13 to 24. Their annual event and fundraiser, called Trevor LIVE, is being held this year onSunday, December 3 at the Beverly Hilton as a celebra- tion of the organization’s achievements, as well as in recognition of those who support their mission. Eighty cents of every dollar donated to The Trevor Project is directly spent on program- ming efforts to #saveyounglives. AIDS Walk Long Beach AIDS Walk Long Beach has been serving the


region by raising millions of dollars in support of critical prevention services including: free condoms, HIV and STI testing, food pantry support, case management, PrEP and PEP counseling, medication support and social and support groups in multiple languages. This year’s beneficiaries include: Dignity Health’s C.A.R.E. Program, The AIDS Food Store, The Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center, Bickerstaff Clinic at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and Health Services at the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach. On Sunday, November 5, walk a total of 3.12 miles (5k) with your community, beginning at the historic Bixby Park Band Shell as you enjoy the scenic view of the city’s namesake beach.
