THINK YOU CAN’T FOSTER?
If you’ve ever thought you’d love to foster but can’t – think again! Don’t let myths stop you. If you have space in your heart and home, they’ll welcome your application. You don’t need to own your home – people who rent also make great foster carers.
You don’t need to be married – single men or women or couples living together, including same sex couples, are welcome. You can also foster if you have your own children as long as you have a spare bedroom.
You don’t need experience with children. Full training and on-going support is provided. If you do have extensive or professional experience, there’s fostering schemes to suit you.
You don’t have to commit for years – if you want to foster long-term, that’s great, but they also need people for short term placements.
Faith or no faith and cultural background doesn’t matter. Caring, patience and willingness to learn do.
