this winter building four 32 foot sailboats, which is diff erent than last winter when they had a number of smaller service jobs along with several repowers. One of the jobs last winter was on the schooner DAVID C. MCINTOSH, which had been in storage for about 10 years was made ready for the season. Friendship Boats in Friendship is just

Presently they are working on the aft section of the house, fi nishing the stern deck and doing fi nal in- stallation on the systems. She will be going over mid fall. Also in the shop is the lobster boat

Hewes & Co. in Blue Hill is currently
working on a very interesting project in- volving a steel walk-bridge located in Man- hattan, which will be covered with wood. Presently they are building samples and will begin the project in earnest early this fall. They are also cutting a kit for the 29
foot Marsh Hen, which was designed by Doug Hylan of Brooklin. This will be going to Doug Hylan’s shop to be fi nished off this winter. Another one will be cut and sent to New Hampshire to be fi nished. Ready to be delivered is the cork deck for a Maine Cat 38.
They will also build a St. Isles skiff kit
for Islesford Boat Works. They are starting a rowing club on the island and these are the boats they will be using. Earlier this year they built the plug for

Presently they are cutting pieces for the deck, which is being built at Rockport Ma- rine. The inner skin is 12 mm, the blocking is 18 mm, and the outer skin 9 mm all in ply- wood. They are also doing the interior and engine bulkheads, which will be delivered to Brooklin Boat Yard. Over the winter they also did some work
on the deck and inside house of a Wesmac 54, which is being fi nished out as a sportfi sh- erman. They also did cabin and passageway door frames and interior trim.
