Born in Çanakkale in 1957, Ahmet Oran studied painting in İstanbul and Vienna. From 1977 to 1980, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in İstanbul with Professor Adnan Çoker. Between 1980 and 1986 he studied painting, glass painting and graphic arts under Prof. Carl Unger at the Vienna Academy of Applied Arts. Afterwards, Oran continued his studies with Prof. Adolf Frohner from 1986 to 1987. For over twenty years, Ahmet Oran opened numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. His works have been exhibited in contemporary art museums including İstanbul Modern, Kunsthalle Bonn and Lentos Kunstmuseum.

Born in Alexandria in 1943, Moustafa began his studies in 1961 in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture at Alexandria University. He then established a prominent reputation as a figurative painter in Egypt, before continuing his training in London, where he received a Master’s degree and doctorate from St. Martin’s College of Art and Design. It was during this period of research that Moustafa’s inspiration shifted focus to Islam’s highest art form: calligraphy. His visually arresting penmanship has been translated into the media of painting, stained glass, silkscreen and tapestries. Since 1974, Moustafa has resided in London and in 1983 he founded the Fe-Noon Ahmed Moustafa Research Centre for Arab Art and Design. £500-800 + 27.6% BP*
