More procedures will be performed when medication management is no longer a feasible, long-term option. ASCs can play a larger role in the management of these patients. I expect usage of those ASCs to go up quite dramatically over the coming years as we try to combat the crisis.”
Glaser encourages ASCs to con- sider the benefits of serving this patient population. “ASCs are always search- ing for the next ‘big thing’ as a means to increase volume. If they just con- centrate on getting a good pain man- agement doctor, that can do wonders. The demand is definitely out there.”
