SCA rolled out a new program this year that gives the association’s facil- ity members and ASCs across the country easy access to several important


resources they can use to meet regulatory requirements, cut costs, educate staff and continue to deliver top-quality patient care. Through this new offering—ASCA’s Affinity Partnership Program—ASCs


ASCA Asset Network, provided by Healthcare Asset Network: A secure online portal where ASCs can buy and sell health-care supplies and equipment. This unique platform features a streamlined, vetted marketplace for new and refur- bished products, a proprietary seller protection program that allows you to buy and sell with confidence, an optional dedicated buyer program to free ASC staff from time-intensive purchasing tasks and a mobile app.

Language Services for ASCs, provided by Akorbi: ASCs can use these high- quality translation and interpretation services to meet Medicare certification requirements. ASCA members enjoy special discounted rates on Akorbi’s lan- guage solutions, which include in-person interpretation; telephone, video and mobile interpretation; document translation; and document localization.

OAS CAHPS Survey, provided by SPH Analytics: This survey is designed to measure patient experience with overall care received in Medicare-certified ASCs and hospital outpatient departments (HOPDs). We have negotiated with SPH Analytics to offer ASCA members special discounted rates that include complete survey administration, submission and innovative dashboard ana- lytics. Medicare’s 2018 ASC Proposed Rule released this July delays manda- tory implementation of the survey until further rulemaking; however, ASCs can begin conducting it prior to anticipated CMS mandates to begin identifying and addressing issues that can help them improve their survey results.


Online Training Series, provided by HealthStream: This collection of 24 courses applies specifically to ASCs and is designed to train ASC staff on the most current regulations and standards of care. Eighteen of the interactive courses provide CE credits. The courses are recommended for all ASC employees and can be used to orient new staff, assist in meeting regulatory and accreditation standards, help assess competency and engage all team members in improving your ASC’s quality of care.
