SOUTHWOLD HARBOUR
Just half a mile south of the Town is Southwold Harbour which became a haven port with the Royal Charter of 1489. Two Bailiffs were appointed by this charter, one of whom was William Godyll.

Today the Harbour is managed by Waveney District Council on behalf of the Town Council who remain the Trustees of the Charitable Undertaking.
