Shure Distribution UK’s Systems Group is expanding, with the addition of Andrew Francis as Senior Applications Engineer and Richard Knott as Project Manager. The new employees have been taken on in response to the growing demand for Shure conferencing audio technology.


Andrew Francis has a decade of AV expe- rience covering both installed systems and live events. During this time he has worked with politicians and business leaders, as well as other high-profile public figures such as His Holiness The Pope, while pro- ducing confer- ences, awards events and gala dinners. On the installation side he spent three years as a technical manager designing and commissioning AV systems for large corporate installations, specialising in multipurpose flexible meeting rooms.

Riedel Communications has announced the appointment of Daniel Channon as rental engineer. Based in Riedel’s U.K. office, Channon will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and maintaining the company’s extensive rental service for tailored commu- nications and networking solutions. Prior to joining Riedel, Channon served both the Rio and London Olympic and Paralympic Games as cluster venue results project man- ager for the Results Technology Service, the team in charge of the end-to-end systems used to communicate live sport results and competition information across global media. For Rio, he was responsible for the overall delivery of live results services for 12 sports, and for London he managed delivery of results services for the volleyball and sitting volleyball events.


Channon also previously served as a project manager for Adstream, a global advertising workflow and distribution company, and held several IT project management positions with the British Airports Authority. He holds a degree in business administration from Na- pier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and technical/project management certifications


Wireless, QLX-D, ULX-D and Axient Digital platforms. He will also offer technical support in the pre-sales and commissioning phases of larger projects, and will take an active role in industry education through Shure Audio Institute events.

Prior to joining Shure, he was Business Development Manager at White Light, managing AV system design and project sales across a range of markets. As Project Manager, Richard is responsible for relationship building between Shure, end users and consultants in the Systems market, focusing on conference audio, meeting rooms, and multi-divisible spaces. “Now is an exciting time to be part of the Systems Group, as Shure’s presence contin- ues to grow in the corporate market,” said Richard. “The company has a rich history of audio solutions of the highest quality, and an excellent UK team as well as global support. I’m very pleased to be a part of Shure and I look forward to working to deliver our aims and goals.”
