Some EBT users include a printout of the procedure in the


logbook. Tis is not always required, but is a good practice to back up the handwriten entry. Below are some questions that any BAT conducting accuracy checks should know the answer to and be able to explain: • What kind of standard are you using? • How is the target or expected value determined? • What is the range of tolerance allowed? • When is calibration of the device required? • Where is the QAP for this EBT device? Can you answer these questions about your own EBT and


Quality Assurance procedures? Without a proper logbook, the user of the EBT cannot


prove that the device was accurate at the time of a disputed test. Teaching BATs how to fill out the logbook and conduct accuracy checks should be a major element of any BAT training course. ❚
