// The Belfry Hotel & Resort

WOODLAND WALK

The Woodland Walk is an interactive adventure for families with young children. You can take a walk on the wild side with den building, wildlife spotting and there’s even a bug hotel. For all those wishing to challenge themselves a little more, fitness obstacles are in place around a 2km course. It’s superb fun, we even found a bee house – not the Golden Egg we were looking for, but it was start! Located next to the Woodland Walk, is The Belfry’s playground fully equipped with swings, a climbing obstacle course and slide. After a fabulous hour of outdoor fun we decided it was time to go indoors for a swim – as the Golden Egg could be in the pool – according to Katie?

POOL

Located in the leisure club, the spacious indoor pool area is the ideal spot for children to make a splash whilst the adults can immerse themselves in the Jacuzzi, steam and sauna room.

SPA TIME

The opulent spa has 16 luxurious treatment rooms, one dual treatment room, a finishing studio, with four nail stations, two pedicure thrones and a relaxation room with discreet day beds. It’s worth making the most of this on any visit – me time!

After returning and dressing for the evening we headed down to The Ryder Grill, one of three restaurants within the hotel. Under the watchful eye of Executive Head chef Robert Bates, The Ryder Grill with its wooden beams, soft leathers and daramtic theatre kitchen succeeds in providing the most memorable of dining experiences. This elegant restaurant provides a refreshing take on modern dining whilst also serving up stunning views across the golf course. If you want to add drama to your dining experience, soak up the atmosphere at the showcase grill which takes centre stage. We enjoyed the A’La Carte menu, but diners can also choose the self-serve buffet option, that required moving and after our days activties that wasn’t an option!

BREAKFAST!

The following morning, instead of venturing down to breakfast in the Ryder Grill where there is a good selection of full English and continental, we opted for room service which was definately the

right choice as we all only woke to the door knocking at 7.40am! Three staff entered carrying three large trays filled with the breakfast choices I’d made the night before whilst Katie was sleeping. I had made amendments on the card I filled in replacing tomatoes for beans and fried eggs for poached and was a little dubious that this would be ok – but to our delight everything came as ordered and it was perfect!

RYDER LEGENDS MINI GOLF

The adventure continues at The Belfry, and with it being the home of golf, what better way to introduce your kids to the sport than with a game on the Ryder Legends Mini Golf Course. The 12-hole course has been thoughtfully inspired by select legendary Ryder Cup courses and is great fun for all the family! The course is quite challenging, but fun too and creates lots of laughter as the odd ball ends up in water or a bunker – not mine, I won and below par too!

OTHER THINGS TO DO

Rocca’s Pizza Pasta Restaurant is a family friendly Italian restaurant, another dining alternative and you can burn off those calories in the playing field or getting competitive with the giant lawn games to include; Jenga, chess, skittles, hoopla, Connect 4 and more on a giant scale!

To ensure adults enjoy the pamper time in the spa as well as the golf, there’s a crèche which is Oftsed registered and if they want to find their grove, there’s Live Lounge Nights on the last Friday of every month.

The Belfry offer various package stays to include a Drayton Manor and Cadbury World package, visit their website for more information. This made the perfect Easter break for us, but with Summer, Halloween, Bonfire and Christmas – there’s plenty of breaks to consider as well as just a weekend away to take life at your own pace – whatever you want that pace to be at The Belfy!
