Eleanor with Corkhill Skylark

Brynoffa Madonna with her one hour old foal

foot. She won three championship sections, both in youngstock classes and overall.

Skylark’s 2017 foal is by Laithehill Jazz. The other mare Brynoffa Madonna, who was purchased last year, had a filly foal by Linksbury Royal Charm in mid April. Madonna is soon to be covered by Lemonshilll Falcon. It is difficult keeping ponies past their youngstock days, due to Eleanor having no riders. The first section B pony Eleanor bred was Dunaskin Rivendell (Dorgan Valissa X Skellorn Graffiti), which remains in Scotland competing in WHP classes. Banksy Revealed (Brynoffa Savannah x Skellorn Graffiti) is now in Ireland and recently won the INPS SHP Championships. Dunaskin Gimli, full brother to Rivendell, has an amazing in-hand record for a youngster, with supreme awards both in Scotland and at the summer championships, including supreme home produced. Now a four year old stallion, he is starting his career under saddle.

Success at the Royal Highland Show with Danaskin Tipple

Dunaskin Tipple

Highland Show was Danaskin Tipple, who is out of Dorgan Valissa and by Gartconnell Shooting Star. This is the last foal off Valissa (since she is now 21) and she will be retained.

As a yearling, Dunaskin Gimli won well into four figures prize money and Eleanor bought her first registered Welsh part bred x part bred Arab – Greenbarrow Picture Perfect.

Champions again

By Stanley Grange Regal Heights and out of Portraid of Gold, this now three year old, standing 14.1hh, has rarely been beaten over the past two years, with seven supreme titles to her name. She will be missed when she’s put up for sale at the end of the year to start a ridden career.

Following a bout of Acute Myloyd Leukaemia, Eleanor’s 2016 show season was cut short. However, she recovered and managed the later part of the season, including all the foal and youngstock shows. This made her even more determined to look forward to the 2017 season, especially the summer championships and Equifest, where along with PUK she has been a major sponsor over the years. Unfortunately, early this year, the leukaemia reared its ugly head once more, with a bone marrow transplant now needed.

Eleanor is currently only able to give instructions to her husband William and Susan from the hospital bed but hopes to be fit enough to return to the show ring before too long.
