The Residence With a private living room, separate bedroom and even an en-suite bathroom with shower, The Residence brings a five-star hotel to the sky and blurs the boundaries between commercial aviation and private air travel.

Accommodating up to two guests, the living room

features a large leather-upholstered sofa, a 32-inch flat-screen TV and cabinet with chilled refreshments. On hand to assist is a Savoy-trained butler, dedicated to serving guests in this exclusive cabin. When it’s time to rest, a six-foot 10-inch double bed with designer Italian bed linen awaits, and before landing, guests can take advantage of a full-height shower, luxury amenities and bathrobes, ensuring they arrived rested and refreshed.

First Class and Premium Lounges Customers flying from the UK can take advantage of lounges at Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh, but it is at Abu Dhabi International Airport that Etihad’s lounges really push the boundaries. With all the amenities of a boutique hotel, including fine dining, a family room and a Six Senses Spa, the Premium Lounges in the airport’s Terminals 1 and 3 offer the perfect send-off for business and first-class customers. If first-class customers want a truly exclusive

experience, they can also head to the newly opened First Class Lounge & Spa, featuring 16 luxurious rooms including a dining area, bar, spa, fitness room and lounges. It’s not only on departure that premium passengers are catered for – those arriving in business or first class can take advantage of the arrivals lounge and enjoy an international buffet or freshen up with a shower, wet shave and clothes pressing service.

Etihad operates three daily departures from Heathrow with its A380, twice daily from Manchester and daily from Edinburgh until the end of October, when the Edinburgh service will be five weekly departures.

In 2016, the carrier won the Travel Weekly Globe Travel Award for innovation thanks to the development of The Residence on its new A380 aircraft.
