• NewVoiceMedia, a leading global provider of omni- channel cloud customer contact technology, has announced that Frank van Veenendaal will join as a director to the board. Van Veenendaal served as executive vice chairman of Salesforce for three years where he held a number of executive leadership positions and helped drive the company’s considerable growth. Prior to Salesforce, he served at several leading high-tech companies, including Actuate Corporation, Interleaf, Integrated Solutions, Pyramid and Harris Corporation.
• Goringe Accountants, based in Theale and Paddington, has continued its expansion with the appointment of new senior account manager Nick Moore. Moore brings with him over two decades of accounting experience from a range of firms, including KPMG and Grant Thornton. He is responsible for overseeing many client accounts, as well as being a mentor-trainer for the more junior members of the team. With diverse sector experience including IT, transport, building and solicitors, Moore will also use his expertise to help grow the practice.
• Dan Wesolowski, a senior audit manager at accountants and business advisers BDO LLP in Reading, has been named as one of the accountancy profession’s finest young talents in the UK. Wesolowski, 31, has been named in Accountancy Age’s ‘35 under 35’ and is described as having “a bright future in the profession”. The list celebrates the best and brightest in the accounting practice and serves to showcase the achievements of the next generation of managing partners, CFOs and entrepreneurs. After joining the firm as a non-graduate trainee 10 years ago, Wesolowski is now responsible for managing an impressive portfolio of listed businesses and international
assurance clients. He has progressively become an integral part of the bid team and has contributed to considerable client wins for the business. He currently advises a wide range of clients in the technology, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors, among others.
• Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has appointed Peter Read as chairman of the board, effective from July 17. With over 40 years of experience in the aviation industry at both director and board level, Read brings a combination of public
and private sector experience to the role. He is the current non- executive chairman of the Airline Group, working closely with the Department for Transport, and a board member of National Air Traffic Services. Speaking of his appointment, he said: “I am delighted to become chairman of Thames Valley Berkshire LEP as we continue negotiations with government on future investment in the sub region. "I look forward to working with the other members of the LEP board in delivering our growth plan and driving forward our objectives to accelerate economic performance through business investment, international trade and infrastructure schemes.”
• Professor Tim Middleton has been appointed as the new pro vice-chancellor for research and enterprise at Buckinghamshire New University. He is currently the vice provost, research and enterprise at Bath Spa University where he has held senior roles
since February 2001. Middleton starts his new role at Bucks New University on September 1 and said he was “very pleased’' by the appointment. He graduated from the University of Kent with an English and American Literature degree. He completed both his MA and PhD in English Literature at the University of Warwick. He was an English Literature lecturer in higher education institutions before joining Bath Spa University as head of school, English and creative studies in 2001. He was appointed dean of international relations in 2010 and promoted to vice provost, research and graduate affairs in 2012. His remit was expanded to include research and enterprise in 2014.
• Royal Berkshire, an Exclusive group venue in Ascot, has appointed Andrew Colley as general manager. Colley brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous general manager roles at The Chesterfield Mayfair, Ramada Hyde Park Hotel, Audleys Wood Hotel, and the East Sussex National Hotel, spanning in total 16 years of hotel and venue management experience. He is widely regarded as a conference, meetings and events specialist. Colley added: “I am honoured to be joining the Exclusive Hotels and Venues family. As someone who lives
