In Manset at Marine Systems, owned By Eric Clark, they are fi nishing off a Hol- land 38 as a lobster boat for a fi sherman from Bar Harbor. The hull just arrived and the engine, a 500-hp John Deere diesel, is in, and they are now working on putting in the tankage and platform. She should be done early this summer.


Eric says that this is going to be his last boat. He said that he is going to take over his father’s business selling janitorial products.


At Millennium Boats in Eastport they several hulls in various stages of completion on the shop fl oor.


Just launched was a Millennium 50,


which was fi nished out as a crab boat for a fi sherman in the State of Washington. Down below she had four berths, head and galley with a settee up in the shelter. She is powered with a 575-hp John Deere diesel. Getting ready to launch is a Donnell 43, which is being fi nished off as a lobster/ herring boat for a fi sherman from New Brunswick. Down below she has four berths, head with shower and galley. She is powered with a 660-hp QSM-11 Cummins diesel. A 45 x 16 foot Millennium hull is being


fi nished off as a lobster/snow crab/herring boat for a fi sherman from New Brunswick. For accommodations she has head with shower forward, galley, storage and a queen berth aft. Up in the shelter there is a large settee. She will be powered with a 660-hp Cummins diesel. A Donnell 43 is being fi nished out as a lobster/herring boat for another fi sherman in New Brunswick. This one was widened to a 15-foot stern. Down below she will only have a V-berth. A Millennium 48 is being fi nished off


for a local fi sherman, replacing the boat he lost when a portion of the Town Dock col- lapsed in Eastport. She only has a V-berth below and is powered with a 750-hp FPT diesel engine. She will be used as a lobster/ scallop boat.


Another Millennium 48 has just been started for a commercial fi sherman from California. She will be used in the crab and eel fi sheries. She will have a full interior and be powered with a 600-hp Scania. She is expected to be done later this summer. Soon they will be getting ready to fi nish
