Re-elected for the southern region were Dawson and Dhaliwal. Dhaliwal is also a member of the board of the B.C. Fruit Growers’ Association, as well as being president of the BCFGA-owned Plant Improvement Company. Other directors for the south valley include Gordon Hahn of Oliver, Darshan Jassar of Penticton and Ron Vollo of Summerland. Alan Tyabji, chief executive officer of the co-operative, said the AGM was “very quiet and very business oriented and focused on the progress that we’ve made in the last year.”

“These growers come from all over B.C., so we didn’t want them all having to go to places that they would have no other reason to go, so everybody got to see everything,” said Tyabji.
“The sum total of the assets that they were watching were over a hundred million dollars and so this allowed them to view each of the facilities operating.”

Tyabji said changes introduced at this year’s AGM included showing overhead and street view pictures of the 18 properties owned by the co- op and were followed by pictures of each stage of upgrading to the facilities it owns.
