Board Profiles David Thompson

Office: Justice of the Peace County I was born in: Boone County. What I like most about my county: The geography both physical and social.

The best thing about living in Arkansas: Arkansas is such a diverse state; from fertile Delta land to rolling hills to the beautiful Ozark Mountains.

I got started in county government because:

I wanted to make a difference for the citizens of Boone County. I have had and continue to have a desire to represent people and let their opinions be heard.

My favorite meal:

Fried okra, corn on the cob, home-grown tomatoes and home-grown beef.

When I’m not working I’m: Kayaking, taking nature pictures, 4-wheeling, and traveling to America’s National Parks with my wife, Diane.

The accomplishments of which I am most proud: I have had the opportunity to carry on the family farm

B

for the 3rd generation and raise our children on the farm instilling in them a strong work ethic and love of God’s beautiful land.

The hardest thing I have ever done is:

Dairy farming for 40 years (although I loved it) and to this day I like animals that are black and white like our Holsteins.

If I wasn’t a justice of the peace, I’d be:

I’d be active in the

county some other way; possibly on the hospital or nursing home board.

You might be surprised to learn that: I want to learn to play the bagpipes. My pet peeve is: Half truths
