Car spring cleaning tips from the experts at

As Kit has just described, keeping on top of constant car mess can be a real headache and just like our homes, our cars deserve a spring clean too! Here, the car care experts at Holts and Simoniz run through some great tips to help you make a clean start as the cold and corrosive winter makes way for some warmer weather (we hope!).

A

s the weather improves now is the time to shed that winter skin! Use our spring clean- ing car care plan and get your beloved car back in shape for spring and summer.

1) Before you Begin

If you’re going to clean your car properly inside and out we recommend you equip yourself with the right tools for the job as this will ensure your car not only looks great but remains roadworthy and free from faults. We recommend you’ll need a basic kit consisting of two buckets (clean and soapy water), 2 sponges, a wheel brush, a chamois leather and a range of Simoniz car cleaning products to get started. It’s also important to remember to wear soft fleecy clothing as zips and buttons can do serious damage when stretching across the car exterior.

2) De-clutter A daily de-clutter is a great routine and may even pre- vent further spillages and stains from developing over time. This along with a quick vaccum will do wonders

in itself. By using our quality Simoniz products your car will look and feel squeaky clean and restored. A top tip to remember is if you clean it right the first time it will stay cleaner for longer.

3) Bug Off! Simoniz Bug Shifter is ideal for removing those unsightly, stubborn insect deposits and bird droppings that we usually find smeared on the exterior. This is ideal for use prior to washing. Spray a little over the surface, wipe with a damp cloth and proceed to wash with shampoo.

4) Keep it Clean

Looking after the paintwork on your car is the key to keeping that showroom shine. To make the most of your paintwork it is important to wash your car regularly. Use a good quality car shampoo such as Simoniz Wash & Wax in a bucket of warm water to lift dirt from the surface. See how mucky the water gets as it holds onto the dirt. Start with the roof of the car and work your way down then rinse thoroughly
