Club, a traditional hangout for recent college grads and other regulars who have been filling the bar stools there for more than 30 years. Sensing a little tension from regulars over the February ownership changeover and poten- tial impending changes, Clements said he was quick to point out to customers that other than plans to add a new patio, he and his partner hadn’t planned on changing much at all. “It’s kind of one of those, ‘if it’s not broken don’t fix it’ kind of things,” he added. Alto’s is located at 5476 Shepherdstown Rd. and is open at 11am every day
with a variety of food and beverage specials each week. Clements formerly worked as general manager for another local establishment and has worked in the business practically his whole life. His dream was to have his own op- eration, and Alto’s seemed to be a good fit, he added, saying the community has embraced the new owners. “We’re just going to keep doing what they had been doing so well for so long,” Clements said. “Everyone has welcomed us. It’s been great.” Alto’s will host an annual golf tournament at Locust Hill on June 16. Alto’s
will also host a benefit chili cook-off July 14 on the premises, with proceeds going to a charity yet to be selected, Clements said. More information is available by visiting Alto’s or
