In the Junior years, lessons gradually become more formal. Some subjects, such as Science, Music, PE,Art and Languages, are taught by specialist staff in the Senior School.


At Abbotsholme,we make the most of our 170 acres of fields, copses and dingles and of our extensive games pitches. The children in the Prep School play many sports, and all are able to take part in a vast range of exciting outdoor pursuits such as camping, hiking, canoeing, den-building and rock-climbing. They grow vegetables on their allotments, help to care for the animals on the school farm, and have the opportunity to ride.


It is our firmly-held belief that the learning which takes place outdoors is just as important as that which takes place within the classroom.
