Anatomy of a Civil Trial

com will have some advantages over a firm website blog like www.misterattorney.com/blog. In the same vein, a blogging website apart from your main firm website will give your firm authority in Google’s eyes because of your blog’s links to your primary website. Tose links have less authority when they are from your internal website.

Also, a blog with its own

website gives you the opportunity to get two lines on some Google searches.

B. Choose a Company to Design and Host Your Blog

Tere are a few lawyers out there who do all blog set- up and background work themselves.

computers and web design at college, this might be a good solution for you. I think of this like moving from one house to another. For many years, I refused to pay a dime for movers. • FindLaw (http://www.lawyermarketing.com) • Foster Web Marketing (http://www. fosterwebmarketing.com/)

C. Choose a Blogging Platform Te choice of what blogging platform to use may already

be made for you, particularly if your blog is going to live on your website. Your website provider probably has a specific blogging platform that they use. If you are choosing a company to host, design and manage your blog, they also will likely exclusively use one type of platform. Before you choose to go with one of these companies, ask what they use, and spend five or ten minutes learning about the blog upload process. If you are going
