Many teachers, choreographers, and dance companies volunteer to be a part of this community-wide celebration of dance. At the end of the weekend, people walk out with a spring in their step, a smile on their face, and a sparkle in their eye, and for many dancers who grow up here in North Texas, Planet creates wonderful, lasting memories.

Since being founded in 1997, Dance Planet has been a feast for the community in North Texas. This year promises to be no different. With a spotlight on hip-hop dance, Planet 16 is sure to captivate the masses, so reserve the weekend of March 31-April 1 and come get your fill! Taking place at Booker T. Washington High School of Performing Arts in the Dallas Arts District, this community-based festival is America’s largest free, dance festival of its kind. The goal of this two-day, all-out dance extravaganza, is aimed to increase vis- ibility, appreciation, and support for dance in our greater North Texas community. Any age and anyone who loves any kind of dancing are invited to come.
