Fair Hill International, continued...

Entertainment, Food & Shopping One of the great things about FHI

is that spectators can enjoy not only watching the world’s top event riders, but they can also shop, eat and enjoy some family fun activities. Mike Dupuy is back on Saturday with his Art

and Sport of Falconry With Live Birds of Prey demonstration. Look for him near the Kids’ Cor- ner or under the main food tent. Miniature horse demonstrations will also be near the Kids’ Corner on Saturday and Sunday. JoAnn Dawson’s musi- cal production “HorsePlay” will take place in the warm-up arena on Saturday at noon. Classic cars will be on display by the main arena on Sunday, weather permitting.

New this year on Saturday is the addition of singer/songwriter/en- tertainer Ray Owens of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Ray will perform three fun-fi lled shows. T e popular Country Shops will

feature over 40 vendors selling tack, jewelry, artwork, pet needs, apparel and gifts. Perfect timing for holiday shopping! Great food can be found throughout the grounds, with pubs, snack vendors and the buff et in the VIP tent as op- tions.

Will a Maryland or Capital Region team win the USPC President’s Cup this year again? Find out at Fair Hill!

“Show ‘N Go” Dogs Although the actual dog

agility trials competition has moved to an indoor location elsewhere, for the second year in a row FHI will be off ering agility and fl yball demonstra- tions. New this year, however, is an opportunity for dog owners to try out these sports with their canine friends. Dog owners are invited to

participate in a “Show ‘N Go” class where owners can test their dog’s potential for agil- ity competition. Show ’N Go classes are held all over the country and are a great way to get your dog used to the trial environment and get an expert’s opinion on whether

your training is up to par.

Bit of Britain Challenge If just winning a CCI at FHI weren’t enough, John Nunn of Bit of Britain has upped the stakes by off ering the Jersey Fresh-Fair Hill $30,000 Challenge. Announced earlier this year, the challenge off ers competitors three ways to win. T e horse and rider combination that wins

the CCI*** divisions at both Jersey Fresh and FHI will receive $20,000. Andrea Leatherman of Florida won the CCI*** at Jersey Fresh with Mensa G. As of press time, Andrea is entered in the CCI** at FHI with a diff erent horse. T e horse and rider combination that wins

the CCI** at Jersey Fresh and the CCI*** at FHI will receive $15,000. At Jersey Fresh this year, Lisa Marie Fergusson of British Colum- bia was the winner riding Smart Move. T e horse and rider combination that wins

the CCI** at both Jersey Fresh and FHI will receive $10,000. T is year, that would be Lisa and Smart Move if they enter the CCI** at FHI and win. As of press time, Lisa and Smart Move are entered in the CCI*** at FHI.
