RESIDENTIAL RENOVATION CONTRACTORS and SUB CONTRACTORS


The Grandmont Rosedale Development Cor- poration (GRDC) is seeking qualified General Contractors and Subcontractors for residen- tial renovations projects to be developed by GRDC as part of its Acquisition Development and Resale (ADR) Program.


GRDC is a non-profit community development corporation that purchases, renovates and re- sells vacant single family homes in the Grand- mont Rosedale Communities in northwest De- troit. We expect to renovate up to 50 homes by the end of 2011.


Contractors who provide sufficient evidence of their qualifications will be placed on a Bidder’s List to be considered for upcoming projects. Placement on the Bidder’s List does not guar- antee future work or contracts.


The full Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and a Contractor Application Form can be found on the Grandmont Rosedale Develop- ment Corporation web site located at www. grdc.org. Contractors must return a complet- ed Contractor Application Form, including all required attachments, to GRDC in order to be considered for future projects.

NOTICE of AIR POLLUTION COMMENT PERIOD and PUBLIC HEARING


The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Envi- ronment (DNRE) is holding a public comment period from October 6, 2010, until November 10, 2010, and a public hearing also on November 10, 2010, on Great Lake Petro- leum Terminal, LCC’s proposal to incorporate an existing storage tank, already located on site, into the operation of an asphalt cement storage terminal. The facility is located at 12500 Stocker Street, Detroit, Michigan. The public comment period and hearing are to allow all interested par- ties the opportunity to comment on the Department’s pro- posed conditional approval of a Permit to Install (PTI). It has been preliminarily determined that the incorporation of the storage tank into the asphalt cement storage terminal will not violate any of the Department’s rules nor the Na- tional Ambient Air Quality Standards.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Experimental High Energy Nuclear physics, with the appointment beginning August 2011. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in high-energy nuclear physics. The candidate will join the High Energy Nuclear Physics Group on the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The Wayne State ALICE group comprises four physics faculty and four postdoctoral research associates as well we a number of graduate students. The candidate will be part of the US group on the ALICE-EMCal and DCal projects in ALICE and have a significant focus on supporting the associated ALICE high PT physics program. In particular, our interests are in the area of hadron correlations, photon-hadron correlations and hadron-jet correla- tions in both pp and PbPb collisions.


Candidates should have a PhD in Physics with a record of significant contributions to experimental high energy physics and/or relativistic heavy ion physics, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Candidates should demonstrate the potential to develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program. The position will include a competitive start-up package. The Department presently consists of almost 30 faculty members with active research programs in astrophysics, high-energy particle physics, relativistic heavy ion physics, condensed matter and materials physics, biophysics, and atomic physics.
