Set a limit on what you can do for others this week. You’ll enjoy your feelings more if you are straightforward about refusing a less than appetizing assignment. Trust your feelings and say “No, I won’t.” Clear boundaries help you define yourself.

its second annual Customer Assistance Day at Detroit’s Cobo Center, helping more than 1,500 customers strug- gling to pay their utility bills.
“We have thousands of cus-
tomers in arrears, it’s a sign of the times,” said Joyce Hayes- Giles, DTE Energy senior vice president of customer service. “We wanted to reach out to them before the heating season, before their bills get too big. The bottom line is we don’t want any of our custom- ers shut off.”
The event offered partici-
pants a range of assistance, in- cluding help with applications for Home Heating Credit and State Emergency Relief funds. More than 300 DTE Energy employees staffed the event, including 170 who worked one-on-one with customers. Participants also had the op- portunity to meet with rep- resentatives from numerous assistance agencies and non- profit organizations, including THAW, the Michigan Depart- ment of Human Services, the Detroit Department of Human Services, United Way 2-1-1, the Salvation Army, the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Michigan Community Action Association and many others. DTE Energy’s Custom- er Assistance Day was part of an on-going effort by the com- pany to provide assistance to customers in need.

This all new in- water show will feature boats on shore and in the water, as well as many other outdoor recreation exhibits catering to the millions of outdoor minded individuals in Michi- gan and surrounding states.
“The festival mission is
to provide inspiration and education for individuals and families to encourage outdoor recreation,” said Van Snider, Michigan Boating Industries Association president. “Any group that will benefit from getting more people up off the couch and outside to enjoy healthy, family recreation should be partnering with this event. Boating and out- door recreation offers health and well-being benefits and is easy, affordable and right in our own back yard.”
The festival takes place
along Black Creek and on the surrounding grounds.
