This interactive workshop will focus on technical issues and formulation
challenges when developing green formulations and using natural & organic
ingredients. It will include an assessment of natural alternatives to
commonly used synthetic ingredients, and their efficacy.
The following questions will be answered:
• What is a natural & organic cosmetic product?
• What synthetic chemicals are typically absent?
• What are the natural replacements to these synthetic chemicals?
• What are the challenges with green formulations?
• What are the potential pitfalls & solutions when formulating natural &
organic cosmetics?
Who is the workshop leader?
The workshop leader, Judi Beerling, Organic Monitor’s
Technical Research Manager has many years experience
in product formulation. She provides technical consulting
assistance and training, on natural and organic raw
material selection and product formulation techniques, to
a variety of clients worldwide.
Judi holds an MBA from the Open University Business
School and is a Chartered Chemist. She is the Treasurer of the International
Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC), and is current
President of the UK Society of Cosmetic Scientists (SCS). She is also a
member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW UK).
